Ring Gear (Annulus)Case-hardened alloy steel, 5-axis CNC profile-ground to DIN 5 class. The fixed outer gear meshes with all three planet gears simultaneously — ground to the same accuracy class as European precision gearboxes.

Planet Gears (3×)Helical-cut, case-hardened 20CrMnTi steel. Three planet gears distribute the load evenly, tripling the torque capacity versus a spur gear of equivalent size and producing smooth, low-vibration transmission.

Sun Gear (Input)Connected directly to the motor shaft via the clamp-ring adapter. Drives all three planet gears simultaneously. Ground and lapped for precise pitch diameter — the primary determinant of backlash grade.

Replaced a European brand with EP-FAB090-P1 on our PCB drilling machine. After 10 months of 3-shift operation, zero backlash growth and noise is noticeably lower. The motor adapter system saved our team weeks of custom bracket design.
Switched from EP-FAD090 with adapter to EP-FADS090. The 22 mm axial length saving let us route the encoder cable inside the housing — critical in our ISO Class 4 cleanroom. Running at 8,500 rpm for 14 months without any issue.
Replacing EP-FAB090 and a separate pulley hub with a single EP-FAL110 reduced periodic position error from 0.08 mm to 0.015 mm on our CNC router Y-axis. That one change moved us from grade C to grade A on the customer acceptance test.
EP-FALR190 at i=5 on a stone CNC gantry — the motor folds behind the end plate perpendicular to travel, giving us 180 mm more working length. Integrated pulley eliminated the external support bearing that was our main maintenance point. IP65 holds perfectly after 18 months.
We specify EP-FPGA080A for 240 conveyor indexing drives in a new distribution centre. The ≤8 arc-min backlash is more than adequate for our ±2 mm stop tolerance, and using the FPGA instead of the FAB saved roughly 18% on gearbox unit cost across the entire project.
EP-FAD200 at i=21 (special ratio) on our FPD glass transport robot. The i=21 matched our transport pitch exactly — no software correction factor. Motor is a fixed Yaskawa model across our entire machine range, so the committed bore in FADS was not a constraint. Excellent service response throughout.
