The EP-FAB uses a clamp-ring adapter plate system that allows field assembly without special tools. Follow this sequence to achieve the full rated torque and retain the precision grade after assembly:

  1. 1Verify motor-to-gearbox specification compatibility; clean all mating surfaces with lint-free cloth.
  2. 2Remove the adapter plate from the gearbox input; confirm pilot bore diameter matches motor shaft.
  3. 3Remove the motor shaft key if present; for keyed shafts, retain and install the flat key as required by the coupling type.

Q: What is the difference between the EP-FAB (inline) and EP-FABR (right-angle) series?
The EP-FAB has a coaxial (inline) output — motor and load shafts share the same centreline. The EP-FABR uses identical internal gearing but adds a bevel gear stage at the output, creating a 90° angle between input and output axes. Both share identical frame mounting dimensions and the same clamp-ring motor adapter system, so a machine can be re-designed between inline and right-angle output without changing the motor mount plate or servo drive parameters.
Q: Can the EP-FAB be used with a stepper motor instead of a servo?
