Circular bolt-circle output flange. Direct bolt-on to rotary tables, actuator housings, and round-flange servo systems. 30,000 hr life. 10,000 rpm max input.
The EP-FAD uses the same profile-ground helical planetary gearset as the EP-FAB, but the output end carries a circular (round) flange with a bolt-circle pattern — the preferred interface for rotary table drives, direct-mount actuators, and machinery complying with ISO 9409 round-flange standards.
The bearing and housing system is upgraded for 30,000 hours of service life — 50% longer than the EP-FAB's 20,000 hr — making the EP-FAD the right choice for continuous-duty high-speed axes where scheduled maintenance is difficult or costly.
Note that the EP-FAD includes special gear ratios — i=16, 21, 31, 61, and 91 — in addition to the standard series. These are available in select frame sizes and cover gaps not served by the standard 1-stage (4–10) and 2-stage (20–100) ratio steps.

Motor Assembly Notes

EP-FAD clamp-ring adapter assembly and round-flange output dimensions
Motor input assembly uses the same clamp-ring adapter system (C1–C10) as the EP-FAB and EP-FABR — the eight-step assembly process is identical. Three considerations specific to the round-flange output:
The round output flange uses a bolt-circle with thread holes on the face and a pilot bore (ØD1) for centring. Verify the mating rotary table or actuator body matches the EP-FAD bolt-circle diameter (D8) and pitch (D9) for the chosen frame size before ordering.
The round flange output does not carry radial shaft force — the axial force rating (F_ax) and bending moment (Mₘₐₓ) are the relevant load limits. For cantilevered loads, verify Mₘₐₓ_actual ≤ Mₘₐₓ_rated at the output flange face.
At input speeds above 6,000 rpm, verify that the mean torque × input speed does not exceed the thermal power limit for the frame size. Continuous operation at max speed under full rated torque may require forced-air cooling for EP-FAD200 and EP-FAD255.
Manufacturing & Quality

Ring gear and planet gears are 5-axis CNC profile-ground to DIN 5 class — the same accuracy specified in European precision servo gearboxes.
Every EP-FAD unit runs a high-speed run-in test at rated input speed (up to 10,000 rpm for small frames) to confirm bearing pre-load, thermal stability, and oil film formation.
Individual backlash measurement and P0/P1/P2 grade stamping on every unit. EP-FAD047 and EP-FAD064 are rated from P1 only; P0 starts at EP-FAD090.
Pneumatic pressure applied to all dynamic seal interfaces. Round-flange face seal inspected separately to ensure zero ingress on the output face bolted interface.
